Sports Cardiology
Sports cardiology addresses the cardiovascular care of athletes, active individuals and patients returning to exercise after disease. Sessions cover pre-participation screening, ECG interpretation in athletes, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and channelopathy management in sport, sudden cardiac death prevention, exercise prescription after cardiac events, and the role of high-intensity training in HF and CAD. Discussion includes return-to-play algorithms, paediatric and master athletes, and the use of AEDs in stadia and community settings.
