Preventive Cardiology
Preventive cardiology now spans far beyond statins and aspirin. Sessions cover risk stratification with coronary calcium, polygenic risk scores and inflammatory biomarkers; primary and secondary prevention guidelines; lifestyle, exercise and nutrition interventions; and emerging targets in residual risk including Lp(a) and clonal haematopoiesis. The track addresses the practical integration of GLP-1 agonists, SGLT2 inhibitors and combination lipid therapy into prevention pathways, plus the role of digital tools, wearables and community-based programmes in reaching at-risk populations.
Topics covered in this session
- Risk stratification (CAC, polygenic risk, biomarkers)
- Lifestyle and exercise prescription
- Lp(a) lowering and residual risk
- Combination lipid therapy
- Hypertension control programmes
- Cardiometabolic prevention (GLP-1, SGLT2i)
- Inflammation and CHIP-modulated risk
- Digital and community prevention
