Lipidology
Lipidology has moved well beyond statins. Sessions cover combination LDL-lowering with ezetimibe, bempedoic acid and PCSK9 inhibitors (alirocumab, evolocumab, inclisiran, MK-0616 oral PCSK9), Lp(a) lowering with olpasiran, lepodisiran, pelacarsen and muvalaplin, triglyceride therapies including icosapent ethyl and emerging APOC3 / ANGPTL3 targets, familial hypercholesterolaemia pathways, and the role of CRISPR base-editing for durable single-dose LDL reduction. Discussion includes primary-care integration, residual risk and lifetime-prevention strategy.
